RAYMOND - Carl, 84, Amsbry, formerly of Ebensburg, went to be with the Lord Friday, May 13, 2005, after an extensive illness, in Altoona. Born Feb. 7, 1921, in Portage, son of Joseph and Mary (Bruno) Doyle. Preceded in death by parents; beloved wife, Jerry, on Feb. 6, 1992; and infant son, Richard. Survived by these children: Bob (Mary), Ebensburg; Sheri Lewis (Dean), Amsbry; and Donovan, Hickory, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and best friend, Mario. Brother of Francis (Gloria), Homer City. Carl was a decorated combat veteran and prisoner of war, European Theater, World War II. An avid trout fisherman, he especially loved being at camp along Kettle Creek, Clinton County, with his fishing buddies. Carl was also a familiar and friendly face in Ebensburg, where he lived and worked for over 50 years. At the request of the deceased, there will be no public viewing. Funeral Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Holy Name Catholic Church, Ebensburg, the Rev. Msgr. Arnold L. Gaus. Committal, Holy Name Mausoleum. Funeral Arrangements by the Matevish and Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg.
