ANDERSON – Joseph, 91, Nanty Glo, died Dec. 2, 2010, at Keeper of the Flame Personal Care Home, Blairsville. Born Sept. 25, 1919, in Ambridge, son of the late Harry and Cathrine (Yaworski) Anderson. Preceded in death by wife, Eileen (McDermott) Anderson; sisters, Ann, Mary and Kathleen; and brothers, John and Michael. Surviving are her sons, Joseph, Virginia; and David (Lori), Homer City; brothers, Nick (Liz), Gibsonia; and Sam (Doris), Saltsburg; and sister, Ona (Don) Gohn, Richland. He retired from Beth Energy as a mine superintendent at Mine 38E. A U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Member of VFW Post 3489 and American Legion Post 619, both of Nanty Glo. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, where Parastas will be held at 7:45 and where funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, the Rev. Father George Hnatko, officiating. Interment to follow at Holy Ascension Orthodox Cemetery, Nanty Glo. Veterans service will be conducted by local veterans organizations.
