YENCHO – Verna M., 80, Waxhaw, N.C., formerly of Patton, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010, in Union County, N.C. Born Oct. 3, 1930, in Patton, daughter of Augustine A. and Rosanna M. (Farabaugh) McNulty. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul A. Yencho; brothers, Benedict C. and Augustine E.; and sister, Theresa. Survived by daughter, Adriana (William) Blair, Waxhaw, N.C.; granddaughter, Alyssa (Michael) Vassil, Waxhaw, N.C.; and great-grandchildren, Avery and Evan Vassil. Also survived by brothers and sister, Dennis “Tom” (Bridgette) McNulty, Hollidaysburg; Paul F. (Dorothy) McNulty, Altoona; Doris Swab, Patton; and Joseph B. (Sandra) McNulty, Patton; also numerous nieces and nephews. Verna was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church and the former St. George Catholic Church, Patton. She loved spending time with and enjoying her great-grandchildren. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Stevens Funeral Home Inc., 1004 N. Fifth Ave., Patton, where vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Patton, Benedictine Fathers. Committal, St. Mary’s Cemetery, Patton. Memorial donations may be made to a local hospice organization.
