DAVIS – Donald James, Sr., 60, of Ebensburg entered into his new life with the Lord on December 30, 2010 at Memorial Medical Center. Born July 8, 1950 in Colver, son of the late George P. and Twila (Rummel) Davis. Preceded in death by infant brother; sisters: Janet Shaffer and Nancy Loughran; and brothers William Paul and Kenneth Ray Davis. Survived by wife of 38 years, the former Ronna Kubat; son Donald James Jr. and his wife Jennie, Littleton, Mass; daughter Deeann Jean Rominger, and her partner Scott Purnell, Mundys Corner. Loving pap pap to Caleb and Hannah Davis, Britney Rominger and Michael Purnell. Brother of George David (Mary) Davis, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; Alice (John) Buckler, Portsmouth, Ohio; Elsie Kirkpatrick ; Larry (Nancy) Davis, all of Johnstown. Sisters-in-law and Brother-in-law: Donna (John) Galer, Harrisburg; Stephen (Diane) Kubat, Mundys Corner; Deborah (Bill) Mardis Sr., Vintondale, and numerous nieces and nephews. Don loved his family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them. He also had a passion for golf and looked forward to his annual trips to Florida with his wife. A retired home contractor, Don left a great legacy of beautiful homes throughout our area and into the state of Maryland. A Vietnam War veteran, he was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Sunday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday at the Lakeside Community Church of the Nazarene, Ebensburg, the Rev. Bret Metcalfe, officiating, followed by military ritual and flag presentation by the Nanty Glo, Twin Rocks, and Vintondale area veteran's organizations.
