WATROBA - Robert "Bob," 78, of Mineral Point, passed away on May 24, 2005, at Memorial Medical Center. He was born June 21, 1926, in Johnstown, son of Stanley Sr. and Laura (Nadonley) Watroba. Preceded in death by parents and brothers, Leonard and Stanley Jr. Survived by wife of 54 years, Dolores J. (Ochenrider) Watroba; daughters, Sue, and her fiance, Jerry Downey, both of Brandywine, Md., and Roberta Ann, wife of Eddie Shaffer, Bel Air, Md.; sons, Norbert, married to the former Vicky Shuhayda, and Charles, married to the former Patricia Hennessey, all of Mineral Point; grandchildren, Wendy, Brian, Eric, Lisa and Chuckie; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Morgan, Autumn, Brian, Jaden and Michael; sister, Veronica, wife of Michael Sokach, Parkhill; and several nieces and nephews. Bob served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was employed with the Pennsylvania Railroad, Bethlehem Steel, Shaffer Trucking and retired from Bethlehem Mines. Bob was a member of Assumption of the BVM Catholic Church, Fraternal Order of Eagles 1811 and was a charter member of the Parkhill American Legion Post 970. Bob was loved by all and will be sadly missed. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, Conemaugh, where vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Assumption of the BVM Catholic Church, the Rev. Father Robert C. Hall. Committal will be at Assumption Church Cemetery with military rites conducted by various local military organizations.
