PAUL – Thomas E., 78, of Ben Franklin Highway, Ebensburg, passed away June 6, 2009, at Memorial Medical Center. Born March 5, 1931, in Nanty Glo, son of the late Clinton and Dorothy (Dilling) Paul. Preceded in death by infant daughter, Marcia Renee, and infant twin great-grandsons, Gavin and Zachary. Survived by wife, the former Ellen V. Hoffman, to whom he was married 53 years; and these children: Deborah Gabor, Nanty Glo; Rodney, married to the former Gwen Gallagher, Ford's Corner Road, Nanty Glo; and Brenda, wife of Jim McGough, Mundys Corner. Also survived by grandchildren, Nicholas and Shawn Paul and Amber Gabor; and great-grandchildren, Austin, Ryleigh, Isabella and Dominik. Retired from U.S. Steel Corp., Johnstown. A U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War, he was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and the Korean Service Medal. Member of Summit Lodge 312, F & A.M., Ebensburg. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes Inc., Nanty Glo, where a funeral service will be held at noon Tuesday, the Rev. Terry Gindlesperger officiating. Interment, Pike Brethren Cemetery, Mundys Corner. A Masonic Service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Military graveside rites by the Menoher Post 155 VFW Ritual Team.
