Schweinsberg - Lawler, Harriet Ida (Pryce), 86 of Friendship Village of South Hills, passed away the morning of June 1, 2005. She was born October 16, 1919 in Winterset, east of Ebensburg, the daughter of the late Alan and Anne (Tibbott) Pryce. Her first husband Philip F. Lawler died when she was in her early thirties. Mrs. Schweinsberg was also preceded in death by her second husband, Charles H. Schweinsberg, and by two older brothers, Robert A. and Richard L. Pryce. A graduate of Ebensburg High School and the Altoona School of Commerce, she held positions with GMAC and in Pittsburgh with Koppers, Rockwell Manufacturing and finally as Administrative Assistant to the Dean, Carnegie Tech (now Carnegie Mellon). She also worked for a time teaching kindergarten at a private school in Churchill, a postion she loved. In service to her Mt. Lebanon community, she was a member for over 25 years of her chapter of the P.E.O. sisterhood and of the Woman's Club, serving as president from 1966 trough 1968. Remembered as a real beauty with sparkling eyes and a bright smile, until her death, Harriet kept up what was quite evident even in her early years - a talent in fashion, in interior design and in art. Throughout her life she was an amateur painter. She belonged to the United Church of Christ (Congregational) in Ebensburg and later to the Westminster Presbyterian Church where she was a member of Naomi Circle and served on Chancel Guild. She had a great faith in the Lord, a legacy she leaves to her family. Invited to participate in the childhood of several of her grand-nephews and nieces, she gained great pleasure from this and from all of her family and friends, offering to all her love, support and encouragement. She cultivated and was able to maintain freindships from childhood and from all of the stages of her life that followed. At her instigation, letters she received from her first husband, a World War II entry Private, Bronze Star recipient and a Major upon discharge, will be housed at the United States Army War College. Harriet was part of our hearts, she will never really leave us. Surviving are her beloved brother and sister, John D. Pryce and Charlotte P. McDonald, both of Johnstown, sister-in-law Zelda R. Pryce, Largo, Florida; nieces Priscilla Pryce Cox, Erie; Eleanor A. Little, Dagsboro, Delaware; Suzy Moyer, Johnstown; Doris Pavanarius, Emmaus, Pa.; Nancy Pryce-Rhoades, Edgewood; Christine P.
