KEMLER – Emily R., 74, of Ebensburg, passed away peacefully in her sleep, August 1, 2011 at home. Born December 15, 1936 in Spangler, daughter of the late Stephen G. and Julia D. (Gurchensky) Stopp. Preceded in death by husband George S. Kemler, son Donald “Donnie” Kemler, who passed away this past May, and brother and sister-in-law Raymond (Georgeann) Stopp. Survived by her daughter, Denise Kemler-Bauer, at home; and granddaughters: Kendra Bauer, Ebensburg; Samantha “Sami Jo”, Emily Kathleen, and Krystin Elizabeth Kemler, all of Blairsville. Also survived by brother Ronald (Anita) Stopp, Altoona; sister, Marion (Jack) Marshall, Spring Grove and numerous nieces and nephews. Emily had been a member of the Ebensburg United Methodist Church, and the United Methodist Women. Former member of the South Ebensburg United Church of Christ. She had served as secretary for the family owned business’ for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, baking, cooking, seek & find puzzles, table puzzles and was an avid reader. She loved her role as grandmother to her four granddaughters. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, the Rev. Robert Stopp, nephew of the deceased, officiating. Interment at Lloyd Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, or to Autism Speaks.
