CUPPETT - Rev. James E., 68, Cedar Lane, Bedford, died August 4, 2011 at Altoona Hospital. Born January 8, 1943 in Johnstown, son of the late George M. and Anna I. (Smith) Cuppett. Preceded in death by brother Richard and sister Betty Grubb. Survived by wife, the former Carol A. Lingenfelter, sons: Chris (Ann) Cuppett, Salisbury, Maryland; Brian (Lisa) Cuppett, Greenville, South Carolina and five grandchildren: Max, Ellie, Jack, Andrew, and Nicholas. Also survived by sister, Mrs. James (Lois) Siehl, Schellsburg. Rev. Cuppett had been a Presbyterian Minister for 30 years, serving churches in Roscoe, Johnstown, and retiring in 1996 from the Ebensburg Presbyterian Church. He was also a Stephens Ministry Trainer at the First United Methodist Church in Ormond Beach, Florida. Throughout his career, as well as in his personal life, he was admired for his ready smile and quick wit. Jim was well known for patiently listening to all who needed an ear. He was an inspiration to all. Memorial Services will be held on Monday, August 8th at 3:00 p.m., at the First Presbyterian Church, Johnstown with Rev. Doug Friant, Rev. James R. Farrer, and Rev. Alice Tondora, officiating. Burial will be at Cuppett Cemetery in New Paris. Friends will be received from 2-6 p.m., Sunday at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Bedford Presbyterian Church, 145 S. Juliana St, Bedford Pa. 15522; First Presbyterian Church, 309 Lincoln Street, Johnstown, Pa. 15901; or to the Ebensburg Presbyterian Church, 200 North Center St., Ebensburg, Pa. 15931.
