KELLEY - J. Anthony “Tony”, 77 of Ebensburg, died September 26, 2011 at home. Born January 21, 1934 in Glenfield, Pa. son of the late J.J. and Virginia (Johnson) Kelley. Preceded in death by brothers Paul, Thomas, and James Kelley, and sister Mary Ellen Lyons. Survived by wife, the former Maxine (Luther) Lauer, to whom he was married 22 years and children: Denise M. (Gary) Silvestri, Imperial, Pa.; J. Anthony (Ann) Kelley, II, Sewickley, Pa.; Diana (Robert) Wade, Monaca; Dennis Kelley, Benson, AZ; stepchildren: Gary Lauer, Westerville, OH; Linda Ann Reese, Belvidere, IL; Mark Lauer and Dale Lauer, both of Ebensburg; 13 Grandchildren and 10 Great-grandchildren. Brother of William Kelley, Rochester, NY; Peter Kelley, Beaver; Kathleen Timney, Baden; and Doreen Gill of Clermont, Florida. Tony retired as a switchman for Verizon with 39 years of service. Member of Telecom Pioneers of American and Past Council President of the National Trail. Member of Holy Name Roman Catholic Church and a Korean War veteran. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 7-9 pm, Thursday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Home, Inc., Ebensburg, where a vigil prayer service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday at Holy Name Church, the Rev. Monsignor Arnold L. Gaus, celebrant. Committal at Resurrection Cemetery, Pittsburgh at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Military rites by the Menoher Post 155 VFW Ritual Team. In lieu of flowers donations in Tony’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
