Hammer - Hermenia J. (Britten) of Nanty-Glo, went to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior, June 5, 2005 at Memorial Medical Center. Born September 10, 1923 in Fallen Timber, daughter of the late Theodore and Mary Britten. Preceded in death by Robert Hammer and brother Theodore Britten, Jr. Survived by loving daughters: Peggy wife of Harold Sees, Nanty-Glo and Bobbie Lynn Smith, of R.D. Ebensburg; And grandchildren: Kim wife of James Smith; Robert Lee Clark and wife Amy; Karen Lynn wife of Ron Gerber; Dr. Joseph Clark and wife Sue; and Kelly Marie Nixon; Great Grandchildren: T.J. Smith; Kayla Bracken; Ty Gerber; Jacob Smith; R.J. and Carly Clark, and Zachery Nixon. Also survived by sisters: Thelma Butala and husband John; Wanida Hancharick and husband John; brothers, Porter and wife Mary, Harold and wife Lee, Robert and wife Caroline, Art and wife Nancy; sister-in-law Pat Britten and a host of nieces and nephews. Member of Church of God, Messenger Street, Johnstown. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes Inc., Ebensburg, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, the Rev. William Trentini, pastor, officiating. Interment at United Brethren Cemetery, Belsano.
