Kivisto, Wilmer H, 84, formerly of Nanty Glo, died May 24, 2005 at Laurel Crest Manor. Born April 9, 1921 in Vintondale, son of the late Jacob and Sophia (Romstrom) Kivisto. Survived by sister Ina, wife of Howard Perttula of California; and numerous nieces and nephews. Retired from Bethlehem Mines and member of UMWA Local 1386, Nanty Glo. A World War II Army veteran, he was the recipient of the American Theatre Service Award and the European Asiatic Middle Eastern Service Award with 4 Bronze Stars. Member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mundys Corner. Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m., Sunday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where funeral service will be held at 9:00 a.m., Monday, the Rev. Lynn Sanner, officiating. Intermant at Finnish Cemetery, Nanty Glo.
