CONIGY – Catherine M., 88, Ebensburg, died Dec. 2, 2011, at home. Born Nov. 24, 1923, in Nanty Glo, daughter of Anthony and Julia (Pomputius) Alekna. Preceded in death by parents and sisters, Pauline Cleaver and Agnes Snell. Survived by husband, Leonard, and numerous nieces and nephews. She graduated from Indiana State Teachers College, Indiana, Pa., and was a former school teacher in New Jersey and Nanty Glo. Friends will be received from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Matevish and Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg, where vigil wake service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Holy Name Catholic Church, Ebensburg, the Rev. Monsignor Arnold L. Gaus. Committal, Holy Name Cemetery, Ebensburg.
