SZYMUSIAK - Mary Androskovitch, passed away on June 7, 2005, at the Rockville Nursing Home in Rockville, Md. She was the last remaining member of her family. Born Feb. 8, 1914, in Nanty Glo, Pa., the daughter of Anton and Solome (Miknejvicz) Androskovitch. Preceded in death by parents; beloved husband, Joseph Alexander; brother, Peter Paul Andrews, MD.; sisters, Nell Peet and Julia Kelly; and grandson, Brian Christopher McDermott. Survived by these children: Joan, wife of Leo Di Gioia, Montgomery Village, Md.; Joseph, married to the former Pauline Previte, Nanty Glo; Marie, wife of John Division, Montgomery Village; Carol, wife of Robert Wilson, MD., Virginia Beach, Va.; and Janice, wife of Michael McDermott, Montgomery Village. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Mary, along with her husband, Joseph, opened their first grocery store in 1948. She continued in the grocery business until 1967. She was a past member of the Business and Professional Woman's Club and Catholic War Veterans Ladies Auxiliary. Mary was also a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Nanty Glo, and was a member of the first graduating class of St. Mary's Parochial School. She belonged to the Rosary and Altar Society, Legion of Mary and was an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist at St. Mary's. Her life was dedicated to her family. She was a wonderful, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, cherishing the time she spent with her family. She will be greatly missed. Friends will be received Thursday, June 9, 2005, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, where vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral procession will gather Friday, June 10, 2005, at 10 a.m. at the Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home and proceed to St. Mary's Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Father David S. Peles as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in her memory in the form of donations can be made to St. Mary's Church and/or the St. Mary's Cemetery Association.
