Obituary of Patrick L Eckenrode

ECKENRODE - Patrick Leroy, 67 of Vinco, passed away December 18, 2011 at home. Born May 17, 1944 in Colver, son of the late Isadore L. and Grace Eckenrode. Preceded in death by brothers: Howard, Dean, Lawrence, Eugene and Francis. Survived by children: Garth Patrick Eckenrode, Vinco; Shannan Leroy and wife Heather Eckenrode, Duncansville; and step daughters: RaNell Tully Fenchak, Vinco and Deanna Tully Luschkowski, Ebensburg, and their mother Karen Brown, Johnstown. Also survived by three grandchildren: Vickey Caldwell, Casey and Tucker Eckenrode; brothers and sisters: Janet (Rick) Hahn, Wakefield, Kansas; Clinton (Joyce) Eckenrode, Fort Walton Beach, Florida; Mary Grace (William) Bolette, Northern Cambria; Lucy (Jeff) Brooks, Jacksonville, N.C.; Theresa (Jerry) Albers, Yucca, Arizona; and friends, Martha Bier and Joyce Younkin. Patrick attended Holy Name Roman Catholic Church. An Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he was a member of the Nanty Glo VFW and American Legion. In high school, Pat was a member of the Future Farmers of America. He enjoyed hunting and caring for his horses. Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m., Thursday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday at the funeral home, the Reverend Monsignor Arnold L. Gaus, officiating. Committal at Holy Name Cemetery. Military Rites by Nanty Glo, Twin Rocks, and Vintondale Veteran’s Organizations.
