RAFAS - Erik Thomas, 24 of Johnstown, died June 26, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center, as a result of injuries received in an auto accident. Born December 9, 1987 in Johnstown, PA, son of Thomas J. Jr., and Patricia (Huber) Rafas. Preceded in death by father, maternal grandfather John Huber, and paternal grandfather Thomas J. Rafas, Sr. Survived by mother, Patricia (Huber) Rafas;; brother, Trevor W. Rafas, sister Kate E. Rafas and fiancé, Sydney Rozier, all of Johnstown; maternal grandmother Ina Claire Huber and paternal grandmother Rita Rafas, both of Ebensburg; and aunts and uncles: Denny & Debbie Huber, Arizona; Jerry & Susie Huber, Dave Huber, Tim & Jody Huber, all of Ebensburg; Bob & Ginnie Huber, Bedford; Michael Huber & Ginnie Dunlop, Colorado, Matt & Dawn Huber Roaring Spring, and Rita (Rafas) Nutter of Lancaster, as well as many cousins. Erik was a graduate of the Greater Johnstown High School and was employed as an assemblyman for Lockheed-Martin in Richland Twp. He was an avid car enthusiast and loved spending time with his family and friends. Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, the Rev. Msgr. Arnold L. Gaus, officiating. Interment at Holy Name Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cambria County Historical Society’s “Save Our Porch” campaign in Erik’s memory.
