BOWMAN – Shirley J. (Graham) 75, East Taylor Twp., entered into her eternal reward July 11, 2012 at Arbutus Park Manor. Born March 20, 1937 in Barnesboro, daughter of Arthur L. and Mary (Marshall) Graham,. Preceded in death by parents, in-laws, Dwight & Bernadine (Kruise) Bowman; brother James A. Graham, Sr., and nephew James A. Graham, Jr. Survived by husband Devonne L. Bowman; to whom she was married 54 years; son Roger, married to the former Kimberly (Higginson), of Knox; daughters: Lori, married to John Sturey, Elton; Marcia Garman and friend Jeff Penatzer, East Taylor Twp., and Linda, married to Joseph Bellis, Butler; grandchildren: Courtney Sturey, Baltimore; Caitlin Simmons, Knox, Kirsten and Carly Garman, both of East Taylor, Ethan Sturey, Elton, and Alyssa and Brooke Bellis, both of Butler. Also survived by sisters-in-laws: Wanda Bowman (Calvin) Sheeder, Lady Lake, Florida; Margie Bowman (Willard) Bailey , Colver, Jeannie Bowman (Clark) Rose, Coraopolis, Pa, Caren Bowman (Barry) Turner, Lolo, Montana, Diane Bowman (Charles Jr.) Meadows, Terre Haute, Ind.; brothers–in-law: Gale (Vivian) Bowman, State College, Dale (Mary) Bowman, Armagh, Darell (Sue) Bowman, Ebensburg, and numerous nieces and nephews. Shirley was a homemaker first and foremost. She loved to care for all of her family and she loved very dearly and cherished the love shown by her grandchildren. She loved music and dancing, was an excellent swimmer and enjoyed spending winters in South Florida. In her spare time, she enjoyed card playing, crossword puzzles and watching the television. Longtime supporter of the Conemaugh Valley Cheerleading and Athletics Departments as well as the East Taylor Little League and Girls Softball teams. Member of the St. Pauls’ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mundys Corner, where she had served on several church committees and was a former Sunday School Teacher. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Sunday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, and from 10:00 a.m., until time of Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m., Monday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Rev. Kevin McNamara, officiating. Interment at Ogden Cemetery, Jackson Twp., Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Shirley’s memory.
