SELIGA – Joseph G., 74, New Germany, passed away peacefully July 13, 2012, at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born Dec. 13, 1937, in Nanty Glo, son of Joseph J. and Virginia M. (Gelbke) Seliga. Preceded in death by parents; sister, Lois; brother, Donald; and brother-in-law, Nick Farkas. Survived by wife of 50 years, Nancy (Long) Seliga, New Germany, whom he married June 2, 1962; children, Terri, wife of Jon Patterson, Wexford, and their children, Shane, Jake and Brian; Christine, wife of Greg Pawlikowski, Windsor, and their children, Alex, Nick and Sam; Daniel, married to Cathy Hill, Cincinnati, Ohio, and their children, Joe, Mike, Ellie and Matthew; Jo Ann “Jodi”, wife of Kevin Schofield, New Germany, and their children, Allison, Leah Jo and Hanna; Thomas, Wexford, and his children, Lauren and Garrett; and James, married to April Snyder, Jacksonville, Fla., and their daughter, Sydney; sister, Virginia “Jenny” Farkas, Fairfield; brothers, Regis, married to Judy Ann Hames, Middletown, Md., and Russell, married to Linda Mull, Ebensburg; sister-in-law, Nancy L. (Kerr) Seliga, Strongstown; and numerous nieces and nephews, with special gratitude to his niece, Linda Mattingly, who donated her kidney to him. Joe was a graduate of Ebensburg Cambria High School, Class of 1956. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having been stationed in Korea following the armistice. Former co-owner and vice president of Louis Long Lumber Company Inc., New Germany. Member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, New Germany. Joe enjoyed annual beach trips with his family, good times with his many friends and winters in St. Augustine, Fla. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home Inc., South Fork, where vigil will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Father Alfred Patterson, OSB. Committal, St. Mary’s Cemetery, New Germany.
