HOOVER – Richard A., 84, Cresson, formerly of Ebensburg, died July 12, 2012, in Altoona. Born May 31, 1928, in Patton, son of E. Paul and Agnes (Smithbower) Hoover. Preceeded in death by parents and daughter, Margaret Hoover. Survived by wife, the former Hilda Holtz; 14 children; 27 grandchildren; and eight great- grandchildren. Member of Knights of Columbus. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Matevish and Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg, where vigil wake service will be held Sunday evening. Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Monday at Holy Name Catholic Church, Ebensburg, the Rev. Msgr. Arnold L. Gaus. Committal, Holy Name Cemetery, Ebensburg.
