MIHALIK - Helen M. 91, of Ebensburg, passed away on Aug. 3, 2012 in Pittsburgh, PA. She was born on May 1, 1921 in Nicktown, daughter of the late George and Mary (Majoros) Vrana. Helen was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and baking. She cherished family times together and her cabin, Camp Deacon, located in the northwestern Pennsylvania mountains. She enjoyed watching football and was an avid fan of Slippery Rock University Football. Helen was a member of Holy Name Roman Catholic Church, Ebensburg. Helen is survived by three sons: Dennis & Gina Mihalik of Finksburg, Maryland; Robert & Fran Mihalik of Chardon, Ohio; and George, Jr. & Laura Mihalik of Slippery Rock. She is also survived by six grandchildren - Denise & her husband, Mark; Bobby & his wife, Debbie; Diane & her husband, Jimmy; Greg & his wife, Cheri; Jenny Lee & her husband, Teddy; and Beth & her husband, Jamie. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters Dorothy Vrana and Betty Vrana, both of Cresson, PA and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, George Mihalik Sr. on Jan. 17, 1991. She was also preceded in death by sisters Ann Grimm, Mary Tomallo, Peggy Delarre, Agnes Nealen, Sister Mary Louise Vrana OSF, & brothers John & Steve Vrana. Friends will be received from 3-8 p.m., Sunday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, where a vigil prayer service will be held Sunday evening. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday at Holy Name Church, the Rev. Monsignor Arnold L. Gaus, celebrant. Entombment at Holy Name Mausoleum.
