RODGERS – Louise Margaret, 76, of Ebensburg, passed away August 4, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. Born August 20th, 1935 in Johnstown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Margaret (Peterchalk) Buckus. Preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Robert Rodgers, and infant sister Theresa. Survived by children; Robert (Pam) Kane, Greencastle; Cathleen (Mark) Tubo; and Louann (Gary) Hoffman, both of Cresson; brother Michael Buckus of Ebensburg; sister Rosemary, wife of James Foster, Carlisle; and grandchildren, Faith-Rosalia Hoffman, Grace-Serene Hoffman, Rebecca Tubo, Sarah Rodgers and Luke Rodgers. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Louise was looking forward to being a proud great-grandmother in November. Louise had worked as a nurse at the Cambria County Child Development Center and had spent over 25 years volunteering her time in the Laurel Crest Manor gift shop. Her 25 + years of volunteer work at Laurel Crest Manor meant the world to her, she got to know and become friends with all the residents. A loving mother and grandmother, Louise's life was centered around her grandchildren, going to all their functions and she loved going on vacations with them, especially the beach. She was a member of the Holy Name Roman Catholic Church. Friends will be received from 4 – 8:00 pm Monday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes Inc., Ebensburg. Funeral Mass will be held 10:30am, Tuesday at Holy Name Catholic Church, Ebensburg, the Rev. Monsignor Arnold L. Gaus Celebrant. Entombment, Holy Name Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers donations in Louise’s memory may be made to Conemaugh Hospice.
