BROTHERS – Derek Thomas, 17, Nanty Glo, died Sept. 12, 2012. Born Jan. 27, 1995, in Johnstown, son of James Brothers and Beth Ann Brothers. Survived by parents; brother, James Jr.; and sister, Taylor, both at home; maternal grandparents, Eugene and Inez George, Nanty Glo; paternal grandparents, John Brothers, Ebensburg; and Diane Hess, Dilltown; aunts and uncles, Bill (Debbie) George, John (Denise) George, Jay Brothers, Randy (Jessica) Brothers, Nick (Shelly) George, Eugene (Kim) George, Leigh (Vinny) Martin, Jim (Teri) George, Bob (Tracy) George, Rich (Tammy) George and Julie Novak; niece, Haiden Brothers; numerous cousins; and best friend, Cody Harties. Member of St. Mary’s Church, Nanty Glo. He was a senior at Central Cambria High School. Derek loved football, and always made everyone laugh. He will be missed by all who knew him. Friends will be received from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, where liturgical wake will be held Thursday. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Church, Nanty Glo, the Rev. Father David Peles, celebrant.
