CIMBALISTA – Joan E., 69, Flinton, died Oct. 14, 2012, at West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born Dec. 8, 1942, in Palmyra, daughter of the late James and Thelma Dean. Survived by children, Elizabeth Darrach (James), Lancaster; Marguerite Walter, Blackstock, S.C.; Robert Jr., Raleigh, N.C.; Jennifer, Warrenton, N.C.; and James and Stephen, both of Everett; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Jane Dean, Palmyra. Retired in 2005 as sales clerk with Value City, Altoona. Member of St. Francis Xavier Church, Cresson, and its choir. Also a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Choir, Altoona. Joan loved to sing and sang at countless weddings. She also was an avid reader and loved the beach at Wildwood, N.J., where she vacationed for more than 30 years. Joan also was an avid fan of Penn State football, and both the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles. Friends received from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Charles M. Kennedy Funeral Home, Cresson, where vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis Xavier Church, the Rev. Leo F. Arnone. Committal, church cemetery.
