Wilks - Benny H. Sr., 84 of Cresson passed October 19, 2012 at the Altoona Regional Hospital. Born December 2, 1927 in Vicksburg, Mississippi, son of the late Henry G. and Kathryn Wilks. Survived by his loving wife of 59 years Rita Eberhart, and children; Rebecca Tattrie, Texas, Henry (Ruth) Wilks, Illinois, Benny H. (Sabrina) Wilks Jr., Nevada, and Caroline Wilks, Cresson. Also survived by his sister Kathryn Tellez, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Benny was a Chief Warrant Officer 4 in the U.S. Army, Bronze Star recipient and veteran of WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He was a member and past commander of the Cresson American Legion. At Benny 's request there will be no public visitation, arrangements in the care of the Charles M. Kennedy Funeral Home, Cresson. In Lieu of flowers donations in Benny's memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Program or any veteran organization.
