GIMA – Mabel (Dixon), 92, Nanty Glo, died Nov. 24, 2012, at Memorial Medical Center. Born April 29, 1921, in Springhill, daughter of the late Samuel W. Sr. and Mary I. (Zeeters) Dixon. Preceded in death by husband, John Gima; sisters, Margaret, Marlin and Ruby June (Davis); and brothers, Samuel W. Jr. and Franklin D. Survived by sisters, Betty, widow of Regis Noel, Altoona, and Nora Mae, widow Robert Charles, Colver; brothers, James “Bud,” widower of Kathleen (Shaffer), Austin; Paul, and wife, LaVaughn Shaffer, Ebensburg; John, Colver; and Harry, and wife, Carol Waite, Colver; and sisters-in-law, Estella Mae (Kelly) Dixon, Ebensburg; Libera “Libby” (DiBartolomea) Dixon, Buffalo, N.Y.; and Dorothy Gima, Clymer. Also numerous nieces and nephews. Member of St. Mary’s Church, Nanty Glo. Mabel’s family is especially thankful for the girls who cared for her, the staff at the Presbyterian Home and Graine Hospice (Hannah and Mike), Altoona. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, where liturgical wake will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary’s Church, the Rev. Father Martin A. Cingle, celebrant. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Graine Hospice, Altoona.
