Obituary of Helen Delores Oravec

ORAVEC – Helen Delores (Reba), 90, Ebensburg, formally of Vintondale, died Dec. 24, 2012, at Rebekah Manor. Born March 11, 1922, in Heilwood, Pa., daughter of Joseph and Mary (Bernazinski) Reba. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Max Sr.; and brothers, Charles Reba, John Reba, Nick Reba, Alex Reba, Mike Reba, Steve Friday, Frank Friday and George Friday. Survived by son, Max Jr., married to the former Kathy Sloan, Ebensburg; daughter, Cyndy Janosik, Florida; grandchildren, Michael (Angie), David (Carolyn), James (Amy), Diane (Tim) Washko, Christopher (Nicole), Jeremy (Susan) Janosik and Jill Janosik; and great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Austin, Alivia, Zander, Ashley, Jack, Max, Griffin, Nick, Isabella, Samantha, Sophia, Isaac, Tyler, Anderson, Brandy, Gavin, Charleston and Claire. Sister of Catherine (Joseph) Makosky, Portage; Ann Trynovich, Litiz; Mary Rupert, Spring Church; and Walter (Shirley) Friday, Homer City. Retired aide from Laurel Crest Manor. Special thank you to the caring staff at Rebekah Manor, Ebensburg. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Matevish & Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg, where vigil wake service will be held Thursday. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Name Catholic Church, Ebensburg, the Rev. Monsignor Arnold L. Gaus. Committal, St. Charles Cemetery, Twin Rocks. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Name School Angel Fund in Helen’s memory.
