RAINEY – REV. DONALD T., 77, Ebensburg, died as he lived, trusting in the Lord on January 4, 2013. Born April 8, 1935, son of the late Joseph and Ethel Marie (Conner) Rainey. Preceded in death by sister Alvassa Hopkins and brothers: Charles and James Rainey. Survived by wife of 44 years, Mary Ann. Don and Mary Ann had two sons: David and Matthew, married to the former Janice Nasser, and granddaughters Jocelyn and Meladie. Also survived by sisters Lois (Doyle) Smith and Eileen (Charles) Lohr; and brothers Howard (Jeannie), Bernon (Jeannie), and Dick (Carol) Rainey. Don was a United Methodist Minister for 41 years, and a member of the Western Pennsylvania United Methodist Conference. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Sunday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday at the Ebensburg United Methodist Church, the Rev. Dr. Frank Brosius, officiating. Interment at Rowley Cemetery, Hillsdale, Pa. In lieu of other memorials, donations may be made in Don’s memory to the St. Vincent De Paul Food Pantry, Ebensburg or the St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
