LUTHER – Howard C. Sr., 82, Nanty Glo, went to be with the Lord Jan. 6, 2013, at Memorial Medical Center. Born July 22, 1930, in Patton, son of the late Leroy and Alma (Dunnegan) Luther. Preceded in death by brother, Robert. Survived by wife of 58 years, former Mary A. (Palmonari) Luther, Nanty Glo; children, Howard Luther Jr., Ebensburg; Mark (Carolyn) Luther, Baltimore, Md.; and Leanne (Henry) Miller, Bluff City, Tenn.; and grandchildren, Lauren and Matthew Miller. Brother of Ruth Semonich, Patton; Richard (Betty) Luther, Bradford; and James (Patricia) Luther, Millville, N.J. Also numerous nieces and nephews. Member of St. Mary’s Church, Nanty Glo. Retired from Conrail Corp. after 42 years. Member of Nanty Glo Fire Department, where fire company service will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Many years as a football and basketball official. Howard was a loving and caring husband, who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed gardening and camping and fishing trips with his family and friends and loved dancing with his wife, especially polkas. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, where liturgical wake will be held. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Church, the Rev. Father Martin A. Cingle, celebrant. Committal, Holy Name Mausoleum, Ebensburg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nanty Glo Fire Department, 870 Chestnut St., Nanty Glo, Pa. 15953.
