POPOVICH – Irene (Fenchak), 87, of Ebensburg, passed away January 26, 2013 at Rebekah Manor, Ebensburg. Born November 21, 1925 in Wherum, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Yanuta) Fenchak. Preceded in death by husband John Popovich, Jr., son, John Popovich III, sisters Ann Berkoski, Sophie Stormer, and Mary Fenchak, brothers John, Joseph, Charles and George Fenchak; and great grandson Ian Link,. Survived by children: Robert (Anita) Popovich; Charlotte McFadden; Judy (Denny) Vokin; Kate (Jeffrey) Link, all of Ebensburg; and Barbara Lynn (Eric) Scott, of Harrisburg. Loving “G.G.” of Dionne McFadden (Kevin) Persio, Daphne McFadden (Ken) Matlin, Joe (Tricia) McFadden, Tracy Vokin (Sam) Brunatti, Jolene Vokin (Ryan) Blodgett, Halee Vokin (Joshua) Onder, Dustin Link and fiance’ Natale, Bryan (Kathleen) Link, Emily Popovich (Jason) Tiani, Anne Popovich, Evan Scott and McKenzie Scott; and great grandmother to Estella, Nova, Angelo Persio, Camryn and Mitchell Matlin, Joey and Tristan McFadden, Sammy, Marissa & Madelyn Burnatti, Anna & Carter Blodgett, Bryn Onder, Wyatt, Maison, Olivia, Dakota and Hunter Link, and Brenna Tiani. Also survived by brother Dr. Peter (Barb) Fenchak, Ebensburg; sister, Helen Warchola, Omaha, Nebraska, and brother Jim (Francine) Fenchak, Colver. Irene along with her late husband John, were the owners of the former Popovich Potatoes and Farmers Exchange, Inc. She enjoyed her family, and caring for her flowers and her home. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of other memorials, donations in Irene’s memory may be made to the Dauntless Fire Company or the Ebensburg Area Ambulance Association.
