LONG – Cletus R., 85, of Ebensburg, passed away March 2, 2013 at home. Born March 26, 1927 in Croyle Township, son of the late Joseph and Clara (Smith) Long. Preceded in death by sisters, Catherine Parrish and Alma Long; and brothers, Regis, Joseph and Lawrence Long. Survived by wife of 60 years, the former Bernetta Veneskey; and children, Lois (Richard) Biemiller; Mary Ann (John) Shoemaker; Gerald (Brenda); Martin (Cheryl); Stanton (Maureen); Irene (Thomas) Kopczyk; Evelyn (Kevin) Zimmerman; Monica (Stephen) Hogue; Shirley (Eric) Krug; Angela (Michael) Oravec. 34 Grandchildren; 3 Great Grandchildren. Also survived by siblings, Sister Mary Avila Long, RSM; Hilda Karl; Mary Chirdon; Stella Strittmatter; Jane Moore; Norman; and Irma Pendziwater; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as sisters in law, Phyllis Long; and Dorothy Long. Retired from Bethlehem Steel Corp. with 42 years of service. U.S. Army veteran. Friends will be received from 9:45 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Holy Name Catholic Church, Ebensburg, the Rev. Msgr. Arnold L. Gaus, celebrant. Entombment, Holy Name Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers donations are asked to be made to Bishop Carroll Catholic High School, Ebensburg; Sisters of Mercy; St. Vincent Archabbey, Latrobe or National Pancreatic Foundation, in Clete’s memory.
