Obituary of Genevieve M. Mikolajczk

MIKOLAJCZYK – Genevieve M., 87, Cresson, died March 21, 2013, at St. Leonard’s Home, Hollidaysburg. Born June 15, 1925, in Gallitzin, daughter of the late Louis and Anna Regala. Preceded in death by husband, Ted E., on Aug. 31, 1996; and siblings, Stella Shyrock, Michael, Alec, William and infant, Helen. Survived by children, Mary Ann, Altoona; and Thaddeus (Eileen Thrower), Cresson; granddaughter, Dannielle Illig (Leonard), Gallitzin; and nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Cresson, and its Legion of Mary. She liked Pope John Paul II, flowers, reading and playing bingo. Friends received from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Charles M. Kennedy Funeral Home, Cresson, where Legion of Mary will recite the rosary at 3 p.m., followed by vigil for the deceased. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Aloysius Church, the Very Rev. Father John D. Byrnes. Committal, church cemetery.
