Obituary of Mary Gaboda

GABODA – Mary (Hazy), 94, Nashua, N.H., formerly of Colver, died March 28, 2013, in Nashua. Born Oct. 25, 1918, in Colver, daughter of John and Sophie (Makosey) Hazy. Preceded in death by parents; son, James; grandson, Timothy Patrick; brothers, Peter, John and Joseph; and a sister, Helen. Survived by loving husband, John; these children, daughter, Judith and Richard Berman, Nashua, and son, John and Maureen Gaboda, Whitehouse Station, N.J.; grandchildren, Eliot Berman, David Berman, and James Gaboda; and great-grandchildren, Cory, Hannah and Jacob Berman and James, Callie and Sam Gaboda. Sister of Ann Kokus, Ebensburg. Mary and John were married Oct. 31, 1936. They shared over 76 years of devoted marriage. Mary will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Mary had resided in Nashua for the past 41 years, and prior to that she and John lived in New Jersey. She worked most of her career in the retail sales area. She worked for JC Penney and Miller’s Department stores in Nashua. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Matevish and Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg. A brief funeral service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Very Rev. George Johnson, officiating. Committal, Lloyd Cemetery, Ebensburg, at 9 a.m. Wednesday.
