SIDES - James Arthur, 94, Ebensburg, died July 23, 2005, in Ebensburg. Born Feb. 5, 1911, in Spangler, son of Jacob and Katherine (Luther) Sides. Preceded in death by parents; wife, the former DeLellis Hoppel; brother, Walter; and sister, Mary Witt. Survived by daughter, Mary Ann, wife of Richard Filler, Hershey; two grandchildren, Tracey Anne Filler and Christopher Anthony Filler. Member of UMWA Local 850, Revloc. Formerly employed at Agway, Ebensburg. Life member of Dauntless Fire Company. Life member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 681, VFW Post 4963 and Knights of Columbus Council 522, all of Ebensburg. Member of Cambria County, Central District and State Firemen's associations. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Matevish and Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg, where vigil wake service will be held Sunday evening. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Holy Name Catholic Church, Ebensburg, the Rev. Msgr. Arnold L. Gaus. Committal, St. Benedict's Cemetery, Carrolltown. Firemen's service at 7 p.m. and Knights of Columbus service at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
