EDWARDS - Robert L., 72, Belsano, died Aug. 9, 2005, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Sept. 21, 1932, in Blacklick Township, son of the late Homer and Lillian (Mervine) Edwards. Survived by children, Michael, married to the former Sharon Stiles, Ebensburg; Jeffrey, married to the former Debra White, Indiana; and Scott, Ebensburg; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Retired from the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 66. A U.S. Army ranger and paratrooper veteran, having served in the 82nd and 101st airborne divisions during the Korean War era. Member of American Polish Club, Moose Lodge 207 and American Legion Post 619, all of Nanty Glo; Twin Rocks VFW, Post 7605; a charter member of Blue Goose Sportsman's Club; and various other social organizations. Friends will be received from noon until the time of the memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, Deacon Thomas Buige officiating. Military rites will be conducted by local veterans organizations.
