ZAMBONI - Silvio "Zip," 83, Vintondale, died Aug. 10, 2005, at Memorial Medical Center, downtown campus. Born Aug. 25, 1921, in Colver, son of the late Remigio and Amelia (Barbi) Zamboni. Preceded in death by brothers, John, Louis, Paul, Jeno and Mario; son-in-law, Louis Gutteridge; and daughter-in-law, Delores Zamboni. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Survived by wife, the former Mary Wright, Vintondale. Death ends a marriage union of 64 years. Also survived by children, Mary Mowen, and husband, Charles, Hagerstown, Md.; and William, Nanty Glo; grandchildren, Billy Gutteridge; Lori Marshall; Billy Zamboni, and wife, Cara; Chris Zamboni and Beth Zamboni, three great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was a foreman at Bethlehem Mine 31. An Army veteran, he served in the European Theater during World War II. Member of Nanty Glo VFW, Post 3489. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, where funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, Father James H. Conrad, STL, celebrant. Interment to follow in E.U.B. Cemetery, Belsano. Military rite will be conducted by local veteran organizations.
