BROWN - Judith I Nanny , 87, of Ebensburg, passed away December 10, 2013 at Cambria Care Center. Born June 19, 1926 in Ebensburg, daughter of the late Zedic and Alverda (Rummel) Brothers. Preceded in death by husband Sheldon J. Brown, who passed away in 1995 and seven brothers and seven sisters. Survived by children: William Pat Brown and his wife Eileen Wee Wee , of Ebensburg; Mary Jo and husband Richard Rayman, Olympia, Washington; Kathryn Kitty and husband James Tankesly, Fayetteville, NC; Harry A Pete Brown and wife Joan, of Vinco; and Michael J. Brown and wife Angela, of Mt Holly Springs. Also survived by eleven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and brother Harry Brothers of Washington State. Nanny was a longtime member of the Ebensburg United Church of Christ (Congregational) where she had been active in the Woman s Fellowship. She had worked as a Nanny for many and had also waitressed and cooked at the former Ebensburg Dairy Del. She was also a member of the former IOOF Rebekah s and the Ebensburg Post VFW Ladies Auxillary. A loving mother, grandmother and nanny to many, she will be missed by all who loved her. Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Pastor Chuck Davis, officiating. Interment at Lloyd Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Nanny s memory may be made to the Graine Hospice or to the American Cancer Society.
