Obituary of Jay Pellegrino

PELLEGRINO Jay, 53, of Jackson Twp., formerly of Ebensburg, passed away December 15, 2013 at home. Born December 30, 1959 in Glendale, California, son of Jack and Carol (Beattie) Pellegrino. Preceded in death by maternal grandparents Edwin and Helen Beattie, paternal grandparents Russell & Theresa Pellegrino, Brother Joel Pellegrino, Aunts and Uncles: Edwin & Jay Beattie, Dean & LaDean Kramp. Survived by mother, of Ebensburg; father, of North Carolina, sister Beth (Joseph) Bellock, and brother Jeffrey (Dawn) Pellegrino, all of Ebensburg; sister-in-law Debra Pellegrino, of Virginia Beach; Girlfriend and fishing buddy Barb Laney, Mundys Corner and faithful dog Bella . Also survived by nephews and niece: Chad, Brett, & Scott Bellock; Blake & Jordan Pellegrino and Vinnie & Vanessa Pellegrino; aunt Mae McIntosh and her children Scott and Heather, California. Also cousins David, Shelly, Beverly, Denise, Roger, Doug, and Brian Kramp. Jay was an avid fisherman, a member of the Colver Sportsmen Association and a social member of the Ebensburg American Legion. A 1978 graduate of Central Cambria High School and graduate of the former California State College (CalU), PA, he served as an event coordinator for Team Work Event Specialists, where he loved to work and enjoyed a great working experience and friendship with his boss Mark Spatola. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Friday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, where a vigil prayer service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday at Holy Name Roman Catholic Church, the Rev. Msgr. David Lockard, celebrant. Committal at church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Amercian Diabetes Foundation.
