Giovacchini - Carroll (Shedlock), 70, of Gettysburg and formerly of Ebensburg passed away January 8, 2014 at York Hospital. Born in Johnstown October 21, 1943 the daughter of the late Anthony and Helen (Yaskowitz) Shedlock. Survived by husband Thomas Giovacchini, Gettysburg and sons: Anthony (Wendy), of Gettysburg and Perry (Carmen) Giovacchini, of LaPlata Maryland and grandchildren: Samantha, Dominic, and Gabrielle Giovacchini, and Christian and Caroline Grace Giovacchini. Also survived by brother, Brian Shedlock, of Toms River, New Jersey. Carroll was a loving mother and school teacher at Holy Name Catholic School. Friends will be received from 11:00am until 12:30pm Saturday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes Inc., Ebensburg, followed by a Funeral Mass at 1:00 p.m. at the Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel, Loretto, the Rev. Msgr. Timothy Swope, celebrant. Entombment at Holy Name Mausoleum, Ebensburg. In lieu of flowers donations in Carroll's memory may be made to the Discalded Carmelite Sisters, Loretto.
