BELL Rev. Reginald Bell, 94, Ebensburg, died Jan. 3, 2014, at Rebekah Manor Personal Care, Portage. Born Dec. 17, 1919, in Chatham, England, son of Perce and Eliza Bell. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Colin and Perce; three sisters, Sally, Daisy and Violet; and his loving wife, Vera (Betty). He is survived by two sons, Stephen and family, Plymouth Meeting, and Paul and family, Latrobe. The Rev. Bell immigrated to this country from England in November 1957 with his wife and two sons. He pastored the North Main Avenue Baptist Church, Scranton, from 1958 to 1965, and then accepted a call to pastor Nanty Glo Baptist Church in 1965 until his retirement in 1985. Following his retirement, he and his wife, Betty, purchased a residence in Ebensburg where he lived until entering Rebekah Manor in 2007. During his retirement, he served in a ministers at large program where he and Betty served churches during their interim periods between pastors. While residing in Nanty Glo, the Rev. Bell served with Nanty Glo Volunteer Fire Department and was honorary chaplain for the local American Legion. Countless numbers of people knew they could call the Rev. Bell when they were in a time of need and he would be there to do whatever he could to help. The Rev. Bell loved to garden and could always be seen puttering around his flower beds. He loved his trout fishing at Lake Rowena, but most of all he loved helping people and sharing the good news of Jesus love. Viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo, and from noon until time of service at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
