WILSON John, 84, of Ebensburg, passed away April 25, 2014 at Cambria Care Center. Born April 26, 1929 in Nanty Glo, son of the late Edward M. Wilson and Margaret (Caldwell) Wilson-Kavanaugh. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his step-father, Thomas F. Kavanaugh. Survived by wife, the former Helen Goshey, to whom he was married 62 years and children: Kathy Lynn, wife of Bruce A. Scileny, of Ebensburg and John T. Wilson, married to the former Carolyn Sage, of Williamsburg, Virginia. Also survived by his grandchildren Thomas K. and Kelly Wilson. A longtime member of the Ebensburg United Methodist Church, John had served as a trustee and former president of the church council. A 1947 graduate of the former Nanty Glo High School, upon graduation, he served twenty years in the U.S. Navy. John retired as Vice President/Manager of U.S. Bank, with 18 years of service in Westmont, University Park, and Ebensburg (twice). He was a member and former officer of the Amercian Bankers Association, and a longtime member of the Ebensburg Rotary Club. He enjoyed woodworking, camping and fishing, in fact, even built his own canoe. At John s request there will be no viewing. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday at the Ebensburg United Methodist Church, the Rev. J. R. Virgin, officiating. A gathering of family and friends will take place one hour prior to the service at the church followed by service and funeral luncheon. Private interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Johnstown, with graveside military rituals by Post 4795 VFW Ritual Team, Windber on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, donations in John s memory may be made to the Ebensburg United Methodist Church Memorial Fund. Arrangments are in the care of the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg `
