SHAMBLE The Rev. Donald Edwin, 84, a pastor of Presbyterian churches in Redstone Parish of Redstone Presbytery, Westmont and Ebensburg and the interim pastor of Shelocta and Fairmont, W.Va., died surrounded by his family April 23, 2014, after a prolonged illness in Asheville, N.C. Recently relocated to Asheville, Don was a member of the Riverside Presbytery in San Bernardino County, Calif., and a longtime resident of Yucca Valley, Calif. Born Sept. 1, 1929, in Jamestown, N.Y., Don was the son of Peter and Caroline Shamble. He earned his BA from Waynesburg College, master of divinity from Pittsburgh Western Theological Seminary and master of education from the University of Pittsburgh. In addition to his pastoral duties, Don was director of admissions of Waynesburg College, instructor of speech at Waynesburg and Pitt-Johnstown and moderator of Redstone Presbytery during his career. Donald is survived by his widow, Mary Mitzi (Roach) Shamble; four sons and two daughters, Pauline Polly Johnson, and her husband, William Bill, Asheville; Timothy Tim Shamble, and his wife, Debra, Sterling, Va; Rebecca Becky Crawford, Middlesex, N.J.; John Shamble, Canton, N.C.; Robert Bob Shamble, and his wife, Kathryn Kathy, Philadelphia; and David Shamble, and his wife, Elizabeth, Fort Mill, S.C.; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandsons; and one expected great-granddaughter. In lieu of flowers, Rev. Shamble s family requests that donations be sent in his name to Ebensburg Presbyterian Church, P.O.
