BIANCONI - Palmarino Sabastine Palmy , 89, Cresson, died May 20, 2014 at home, with all his loved ones present, after a lengthy illness. Born April 5, 1925, in Cresson, son of the late John and Concetta (Bozzo) Bianconi. Preceded in death by son, Patrick; sisters: Marie, Margaret, Mary, Matilda, and Carmella; and brothers: Orlando, Thomas, Frank, and Nick. Survived by wife of 59 years, Margaret M. (Cassidy), whom he married April 11, 1955; and children: Pamela and husband Richard Latterner, Cresson; John, and wife Reine, Cresson; Charlene, at home; and his long loving dog Buddy . Also survived by grandchildren: Stephanie, David, John Jr., Joe and Jesse; Nine great-grandchildren; and great-grandpuppes, Bruiser and Pixie . Palmy graduated from Cresson Joint High School and attended St. Francis College, Loretto, where he played football and got his nickname, Blitz . An Air Force veteran of World War II. He had been employed at Craine s Poultry, Gallitzin. Member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Cresson. Life Member of St. Pietro De Roma Italian Society and Cresson Volunteer Fire Company, and member of the Cresson American Legion and Lion s Club. Palmy loved to go bowling and play football. But most of all, he loved to play 18 holes of golf, rain or shine. He would also like to have a lucky day at the tracks or playing slots at the casino. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday at the Charles M. Kennedy Funeral Home, Cresson, where the Legion of Mary will recite the Rosary at 3:00 p.m., followed by vigil for the deceased. Cresson Volunteer Fire Company Memorial Service will be held at 6:30 p.m., Friday evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday at St. Aloysius Church, the Very Rev. Father John D. Byrnes, celebrant. Commital, church cemetery. Graveside Military Rite by Cresson American Legion, Sankertown V.F.W., and other local veterans organizations. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Home Nursing Agency Hospice, 118 Ebony Road, #200, Ebensburg, Pa. 15931.
