TREXLER Louis A., 85, Cresson, died June 2, 2014, at Altoona Center for Nursing Care. Born Oct. 10, 1928, in Altoona, son of the late Clement and Emma (Carland) Trexler. Preceded in death by wife, Gertrude F. Dolly (Craver), on July 11, 2010; sister, Shirley Criste; and brothers, Francis, Robert and Alvin. Survived by children, Timothy L. (Marilyn), Harrisburg; Dennis A. (the late Nancy J. Bradley), Cresson; Michael A. (Maureen), Cresson; Regina Marie Hugo (Bruce), West Richland, Wash.; and Julie Ann Carnicella (John), Altoona; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and brother, David, Duncansville. Army veteran of the Korean War, attached to the 82nd Airbourne Division. Employed by Canteen Vending Service of Johnstown for 27 years, and then was self-employed television repairman for 10 years. Member of St. Aloysius Parish and American Legion, both of Cresson. Third degree member of St. Ann s Council of Knights of Columbus, Cresson. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Charles M. Kennedy Funeral Home, Cresson. Legion of Mary will recite the rosary at 3 p.m. followed by vigil for the deceased. Knights of Columbus memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Aloysius Church, the Very Rev. Father John D. Byrnes. Committal, church cemetery. Military graveside rites by Cresson American Legion, Sankertown VFW and other local veteran organizations.
