LEHMAN Maxine L. (Hunt), 86, Johnstown, went to her eternal rest Dec. 24, 2014, at home and celebrated her first Christmas with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Born June 29, 1928, in Johnstown, daughter of the late Theodore W. and Ivy (Metzger) Hunt. Also preceded in death by husband, John G. Lehman; infant sister, Evanna Grace; and brother, John M. Hunt. Survived by son, John Charles (Connie Kerr), Elwood City, Pa.; daughter, Susan Jean (Kenneth) Ferguson, Johnstown; grandchildren, Shawn (Lori Goheen) Lehman, Beaverton, Ore.; Greg (Ellinor Perry) Lehman, Sweden; Kelli Boland, Johnstown; Jason (Stephanie Weaver) Ferguson; and Jeremy (Mallory Streets) Ferguson; great-grandchildren, Ashlyn and Cole Lehman, Emma and Anna Lehman and Matthew Boland. Sister of Lois Leidy, New Mexico; Elma Koon and Sara Jean Snyder, both of Johnstown; and sister-in-law, Fay Hunt, Ebensburg. A 1945 graduate of the former Ebensburg Cambria High School. Member of Walnut Grove Church of the Brethren, where she served as a life deacon and treasurer. In recent years, she attended University Park Church of God. Maxine was formerly employed as a secretary for Stanley Home Products Inc., confidential secretary to the technical vice president of the former Pa. Electric Co. and secretary to the office manager of Sun Oil Co. in Youngstown, Ohio. She was a gifted quilter, having made quilts and afghans for all her children and grandchildren. Maxine had a deep love for God, family, gardening and crafts. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who was one of a kind and loved to give her grandchildren Pamper Nights. Maxine had a radiant smile and was a person who visited shut-ins, loved sending greeting cards and enjoyed taking care packages to the needy sharing what the Lord had supplied. Her generosity touched everyone in a very special way that will live on forever. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the University Park Church of God, Elton Road, Pastor Timothy Coppess and Pastor Ron Barto officiating. Interment, Richland Cemetery. A special thank you to Conemaugh Hospice who have become like family to us during Mom s lengthy illness.
