SEYMOUR Manuella A. (Bender), 77, of Ebensburg, and formerly of Nanty Glo, passed away suddenly March 30, 2015 at home. Born August 23, 1937 in Nanty Glo, daughter of the late Henry and Violet (Rager) Bender. Preceded in death by husband Edgar J., who passed away February 16, 2004, infant sister Cora, infant brother Henry and sisters Aletta Prowzeak and Nazaretta Lesko. Survived by daughters: Diane Witt and fiancé Mark Blair, West Sacramento, CA; Joan Baxter, Johnstown R.D.; Violet, wife of Douglas Noon, of Sidman; and 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Also survived by brothers: Eugene Bender, Nanty Glo; Francis Bender, Maryville, TN; Ardellas Sonny Bender of California, and sister, Sylvania Fore, of Jackson, Miss and numerous nieces and nephews. A member of Holy Name Roman Catholic Church. Manuella had been employed for many years in housekeeping at The Cottage Inn, in Ebensburg. She was a social member of the Polish - American Citizens Club in Nanty Glo and the Ebensburg V.F.W. She loved to talk and loved her independence, but she will be most remembered as a great mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be missed by all who loved her. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Thursday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg, where a funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, the Rev. Msgr. David Lockard, officiating. Interment at Holy Name Cemetery. In lieu of other memorials, donations in Manuella s memory may be made to the Ebensburg Area Ambulance Assoc. or to Dauntless Fire Company.
