Obituary of Gomer D. Evans

EVANS Gomer D. Dave , 84, of Ebensburg, passed away peacefully April 4, 2015 at home. Born September 28, 1930 in Cambria Twp., son of the late Stanton J. and Emma (Toth) Evans. Preceded in death by sister Susan Doherty. Survived by wife, Mary Neil, to whom he was married 53 years, son Scott of Ebensburg and grandson Alex, Pittsburgh. Brother of Ruth (late William) Stormer, Ebensburg; Jean (Robert) Aitken; Ray (late Sally) Evans and Milly (David) Sloan, all of The Villages, Florida; Barbara Evans, Hollidaysburg; brother-in-law Martin Doherty, Hamburg, NY, and special friends Judy Daddonal, Florida and George Merritts, Revloc and numerous nieces and nephews. Dave had a long career in the US Air Force attaining the rank of Tech Sergeant (E-6) where he had served as a dental hygienist. He had also served as an aide at the Ebensburg Center, and retired from the US Postal Service as a rural delivery man. At his request, there will be no viewing. Private funeral arrangements will be made at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are in the care of the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg.
