KINKEAD - John Stewart "Jack", 86, of York and formerly of Ebensburg, died April 11, 2015 at The Brunswick at Longstown, York, PA, after an extended illness. Born August 11, 1928 in Ebensburg, son of the late Edwin F. and Mildred (Johnston) Kinkead. Preceded in death by sister, Margaret Beattie and her husband, Edwin, and sister-in-law, Myrna Pizzino. Survived by wife of 66 years, Nadine "Muff" Maurer Kinkead; daughter Susan K. Shugars and husband, Thomas, York, PA; son, Mark S. Kinkead and wife, Jane, Warren, OH; daughter, Lynn Ann Hrabosky and husband, James, Prospect, PA; and John Kinkead and wife, Julie, Grantville, PA; grandchildren: Mark, Michael, and Megan Shugars and Kiff, Chad, and Bret Kinkead, and great- grandaughter, Collins Kinkead. Also survived by loving in-laws, nieces, nephews and a host of long time friends. Jack graduated from Ebensburg-Cambria High School and attended Franklin Marshall College, where he played football and lacrosse. His entire career was spent in the insurance industry. He was a long time member of Ebensburg Presbyterian Church where he served as elder, trustee, and deacon. His present membership is with the Kreutz Creek Presbyterian Church, Hallam, PA. He was also a Past Master and secretary of the Free & Accepted Masons, Lodge 312, Ebensburg, PA. Jack enjoyed the outdoors, especially hiking, playing bridge, and listening to the Pittsburgh Pirates. In York County, A Memorial Service will be held at 6:30 p.m., Sunday, April 26th at the Kreutz Creek Presbyterian Church, Hallam, Pa; the Rev. Marion Weller, officiating. In Ebensburg, family and friends may gather from 6-8 p.m., Friday, May 22nd, at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 23rd at the Ebensburg Presbyterian Church, the Rev. Marion Weller and Pastor Laura Blank, officiating.) Interment at Lloyd Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Homeland Hospice, 2300 Vartan Way, Suite 115, Harrisburg, PA 17110 or Cambria County Humane Society, 743 Galleria Drive, Johnstown, PA 15904.
