CRICHTON James R., 79, Ebensburg, died April 27, 2015, Maple Winds, Portage. Born May 6, 1935, in Johnstown, son of Lewis A. and Mary (Rozansky) Crichton. Preceded in death by parents; sister, Mary Lou George; wife, the former Leah Sergent; and friend, Tina Kielbania. Survived by children, James, married to former Wendy Clontz, South Fork, and Jillsuzanne (Jim King) McKeel, Ebensburg; and grandchildren, Steven, Benjamin, Nathan and Allison. Brother of Lewis R Smokey (Carol) Crichton, Portage; brother-in-law, Charles R. Sergent, Carrolltown; and numerous nieces and nephews. Retired from Ebensburg Center. Life member of Portage Fire Company. Announced for many years local high school basketball and football games and was disc jockey for Portage and Ebensburg radio stations. Enjoyed sketching and drawing. He loved his grandchildren and his dogs and cats. Friends received from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 6 until time of service at 8 p.m. Sunday at Matevish and Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg, Father Jonathon, TOR. Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery, Northern Cambria. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Windber Hospice in Jim s memory.
