BISHOP Lois C., 86, Cresson, died May 31, 2015, at The Winds at Mattern Orchard, Duncansville. Born July 12, 1928, in Cresson, daughter of the late Leo and Margaret (Buck) Eager. Preceded in death by husband, John R., who died June 10, 2012; and seven siblings. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Survived by children, David (Liz), Richmond, Va.; Mark (Rose), Irmo, S.C.; Becky Zabinsky (Mike), Cresson; Gina Zabinsky (Frank), Hollidaysburg; and Missy Simmons, Richmond, Va.; 18 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Lois had a variety of careers, including medical secretary with Dr. Joseph A. Cassidy in Cresson; teller at U.S. Bank and First Commonwealth Bank; Cresson Shop N Save; and St. Francis College Library and Franciscan Mission, both of Loretto. Her most memorable years were working side by side with Dr. Cassidy. She loved to bake, and was well-known for her raisin-filled cookies. She also loved her spontaneous weekend travels, painting and crocheting. Member of St. Aloysius Parish, Cresson. Friends received from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Charles M. Kennedy Funeral Home, Cresson, where Legion of Mary will recite the rosary at 3 p.m., followed by vigil for the deceased. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Aloysius Church, the Very Rev. Father John D. Byrnes. Committal, St. Michael Cemetery, Loretto. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia (www.rmhc.org/click donate) in celebration of her newest great-grandsons, Kyle and Kaleb Zabinsky.
