EVANS Thomas D., 72 of Rebekah Manor, Ebensburg, formerly of Cambria Twp., passed away peacefully June 2, 2015 at the Manor. Born January 17, 1943 in Colver, son of the late Sherman D. and Betty A. (Thomas) Evans. Preceded in death by second wife Susan and brother in law Bill McHenry. Survived by children: Beth (Ron) Averill; Terri (Dave) Anderson; Karen (Mike) Lightfield; Bryan (Shelby) Evans; Kevin (Jackie) Evans; Lauren (Garth) Herdrich; all of Maryland; step-daughter Kristen (Chris) Villarrial, Ebensburg; 14 grandchildren and 3 step-grandchildren. Also survived by first wife Lorraine Evans, of Maryland, sister Janet McHenry, Newport, Pa.; and brother Jack (Darlene) Evans of Maryland. Tom was a retired police officer for Montgomery County Maryland, with over 20 years of service. He enjoyed racing horses in his younger years and breeding them in his retired years. Along with his late father, he had also been passionate with involvement in the Salem Homecoming Association for the Salem Church. He was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons. At his request there will be no viewing. A GRAVESIDE funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday at Lloyd Cemetery, the Rev. Dr. Frank Brosius, officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Salem Homecoming Association. Arrangements are in the care of the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg.
